The data catalog is an extensive and open sourced project that aims to bridge the gap between machine learning in academia and creating progress towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Career-wise, I believe AI is a powerful tool for optimizing work flows, boosting productivity, etc, but personally, applications of artificial intelligence for social good and alleviating problems in the world made the strongest impression on me, so I would like to continue down the philanthropic career path and utilize artificial intelligence to accelerate the United Nations SDGs.Why is it important to have a fellowship like this for students like you?
Fellowships like this are important because they foster and nurture interest in emerging technologies like AI in an environment where we can apply preexisting knowledge and skills to real-world applications that create social value while encouraging the development of both vital soft and technical skills to leverage later on.

/ Project: Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity Scorecard
The Scorecard will be used to rate companies according to how they currently perform in various DE&I metrics.
How do you want to use AI for in your career?
I plan to use AI in my career to supplement my work as a policy researcher. AI can help me see trends and identify points of interest I would have otherwise missed.
Why is it important to have a fellowship like this for students like you?
A fellowship with the AI for Good Foundation allows me to explore topics that are interesting to me while using cutting-edge tools under the guidance of multiple experts in the AI field. In addition, the projects I am contributing to for the Foundation are all real-world tools that will make a difference in the lives of others.

How do you want to use AI for in your career?
I want to use AI in my career to forecast energy supply and demand, asset maintenance, minimize carbon emissions and maximize renewable energy resources.
Why is it important to have a fellowship like this for students like you?
It is important because it allows us to work in projects with social and environmental impact. Additionally, it helps us to get involved with researchers and organizations, so we can advance our knowledge in machine learning and sustainable development.

How do you want to use AI for in your career?
As an engineer involved in tech, I hope to continue working on innovations to AI, pushing the frontier of what is possible and creating products that can be applied to improve the quality of life and make the world a better place.
Why is it important to have a fellowship like this for students like you?
A fellowship is a great opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience tackling real world problems and helping countries and communities achieve their sustainable development goals, while working under the guidance of domain experts and the support of experienced mentors.

Mario is currently working on our Intelligent Cities Project that’s helping bring AI Innovation to cities to benefit the lives of its residents.
In my career, my goal is to implement AI into agriculture to optimize and automate farming processes to increase harvest yields, bring down costs at markets for the consumer, and make farming better for the environment.Why is it important to have a fellowship like this for students like you?
A fellowship is helpful for any student since we get the chance to not only gain real-world experience, but also have the opportunity to learn from professionals within our fields through mentors and guest speakers. Through these experiences, we gain a plethora of knowledge and a better understanding of our fields.
