In this interview with our Program Coordinator Lindsey Asis, Claudia Perlich discusses what brought her to her career, how best to use AI for good and its accompanying challenges, and her call to arms of communal action towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals #unsdgs.
“I grew up being very much a geek, and self-identify today as an introvert, but at the same time, I was also very curious. The ability to learn about the world at scale and understand how it works without actually having to talk to anyone was super appealing.”
Claudia served as a chief scientist at Two Sigma, where she was responsible for the reliable estimation of targeting models and the supervision of a real-time scoring engine that identified the target segments of browsers. Since 2011, Claudia has worked as an adjunct professor teaching Data Mining in the M.B.A. program at the New York University Stern School of Business.
