When there is no power there is no internet for a large number of people. Economists for Ukraine is coordinating the deployment of an emergency internet backbone for civilians to gain free wi-fi access to humanitarian information and emergency communications during extended blackouts.

In a matter of days, we can deploy up to 3Gbps of wifi blanketing over a city, allowing people to find what they need and communicate even at the most desperate of times. The average city costs about $200k to deploy.

Our pilot cities will be Kharkiv, Mykolayv, Odesa, and Kyiv. We hope to expand to as many urban centres as possible as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence.
